The birds went to the same 13 mile spot that we’ve been at all week with no issue. I released at 18.25 into a moderate SW wind, the same as yesterday, the birds came out well gathered into one group and headed for home. ,
I returned home to 17 pigeons and a clock that had lost internet connection, and at this moment I started to panic, wondering where all the birds had gone. They then started to come in ones, twos, and threes, and at 19.35 to a degree of relief I saw a larger group arrive. At the close of play I have 124 from the 234 which were taken training, and there is one which isn’t on there. I’m devasted to say the least, and I’ll be up and out first thing checking the loft. I’m hoping to see a large group sitting waiting for me.
The pigeons are in tip-top health and condition, and look a picture. Unfortunately I suspect that they have been subject to a BOP strike and panicked. There were still birds arriving at 9.46pm, close to dark, so I am keeping faith and hoping that more are very close, but that they felt the need to settle for the night with the light drawing in.
