Hot Spot 4 Winners

September 5th, 2023

Good Evening,

Many congratulations to our semi final winners, Jones & Courts.

This is what they said about their winner today.: “Myself and Andrew started entering the one loft races together in 2011, finishing 9th and 32nd RPRA final that year, also winning the 2 bird average. We’ve had a few top 10 finishes in races, but today we have had the pleasure of putting the icing on the cake and winning one, and hopefully our luck will continue in the final. Today’s winner is a mixture of tried and tested bloodlines, being van Rijn Camphius and Cooreman bloodlines: sire of the young bird was a winner of 8x1st club 6x1st federation for myself, and sire of fed winners for myself and others, he being a Van Rijn x Cooreman breeding. The dam of the young bird is a Camphius x Van Rijn multiple prize winner; as a young bird bred fed winners. We would like to thank the team for the great work they put into the birds, to keep them in great condition.”

They have 6 from 7 back so far in this race, so well done to them – they have supported me for many years. Even though they give me a bit of stick at times, they did not give up on me!

It has turned into a tough race, and there was a lot more East in the wind than North. Combined with clear skies, they really had to battle with the East wind today. Hence most have gone down the west side – a different line than they normally take, but as I said before the first race, the gloves are off; there will be no wrapping them in cotton wool. They are still coming and looking good, so I expect more tonight and tomorrow.

The Ace Pigeon results will be updated tomorrow evening, along with an update.

We’ll get these recovered, then train early next week, ready for the Grand Final from Alnwick on Sunday 17th September.
