St Patricks College in Banbridge, Northern Ireland, had an exceptional final race. By finishing second in the race, their bird GB15 B08033 also won the Schools and Ace Pigeon competitions, netting the school a whopping £9075.

The school told us: “Saint Patrick’s College are delighted to be associated with the RPRA Southern One Loft Race and are indebted to Mr Michael Conlon and Mr Gregory McEvoy for their invaluable support and innovative idea to raise much needed funds for our school. In times of austerity every penny counts and the winnings of £9075 will be put to great use to ensure the learning environment of our pupils is as good as it can be. It is only now through this competition that we as a school community have become aware of the minutiae of Pigeon Racing. Together with Mr Conlon and Mr McEvoy we intend to raise awareness of the sport in the local wider Community of Banbridge.”
